Luis Arias

Senior Director, Research & Development

Luis brings deep expertise at the intersection of engineering execution and strategic leadership. His recent work has centered on setting research and development strategy, forecasting, hiring, and execution in alignment with senior leadership goals, while architecting and delivering platforms powered by large language models along with systems in which multiple artificial intelligence agents coordinate to complete complex tasks. He has led end to end machine learning operations and large language model operations, the disciplines of deploying, monitoring, and maintaining artificial intelligence models reliably in production. He has built modular, cloud native solutions that run across major cloud environments, and has put retrieval augmented generation pipelines into production, an approach in which an artificial intelligence model draws on an organization’s own data to produce accurate, grounded answers, enabling real time forecasting and insight delivery. Throughout, he has partnered with executive stakeholders to align technology with business impact, mitigate risk, and champion a high performance culture through mentoring and engineering excellence.

His career reflects a steady progression through increasingly senior technical leadership roles. In an earlier role, he served as a software engineering manager, overseeing more than seventy engineers across multiple cross functional squads and designing microservice based platforms for enterprise clients in finance, cybersecurity, and hospitality. In another, he served as a program manager, architecting enterprise grade internal platforms for Financial Planning and Analysis and Sales organizations while driving adoption of Agile, an iterative and flexible approach to software development, across engineering teams. His earliest roles built a strong foundation in quality engineering, test automation, and the modernization of legacy systems into scalable, high performing architectures.
